아스날닷컴(Arsenal.com)이 2009년 영국 최고의 스포츠 사이트로 선정되었다.

"(아스날닷컴에) 투표한 이유를 보면, 아스날닷컴은 네비게이션에서 매우 강력한 장점을 보유하고 있다고 한다. 이 사이트(아스날닷컴)는 매우 쉬운 네비게이션을 탑재하고 있으며, 이는 웹사이트 방문자에게 편리함을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 찾고자 하는 것(정보)을 쉽게 찾을 수 있게 해준다.

"만일 당신이 다른 스포츠 웹사이트를 본다면, 많은 사이트가 네비게이션 부분이 취약하다는 것을 볼 수 있다. 축구 및 스포츠 클럽은 많은 정보를 제공하는데, 이 때 사이트를 쉽게 살펴볼 수 있도록 네비게이션을 구성하는데 어려움을 겪곤 한다. 아스날닷컴은 이러한 면에서 매우 성공적이였다."

Arsenal.com named Sports Website of the Year

Arsenal.com has been named Best Sports Website at the 2009 UK Website of the Year awards.

The Gunners' official club website received the highest average rating for content, design and navigation in the sports category. More than 850,000 votes were cast as UK web users selected their favourite websites in 22 categories.

"Voters are asked to judge a website on its content, navigation and design and they can award up to five stars for each of these categories," explained Teun Roks, Project Manager for Website of the Year. "They are also asked if they would recommend a website to friends and family. These four factors are all taken into consideration.

"Judging by the votes cast, the navigation of Arsenal.com is seen as its strongest point. The website is very easy to navigate around and that means that casual visitors to the website, as well as diehard fans, can easily find what they are looking for.

"If you look other sports websites you can see that a lot of them lack easy navigation. Football and other sports clubs have a lot of information to offer and therefore have trouble setting up a clear site structure which is easy to navigate around. Arsenal.com has obviously succeeded in this."

Website of the Year is a pan-European initiative by online research agency MetrixLab, Europe's largest online market research agency.
